Talking Wednesday 2: More Hawkeye football interviews
Marc Morehouse

Senior DT Jaleel Johnson — What does a fifth-year senior defensive tackle need to learn or fix in his final spring game? I asked Johnson if he would like college football players to have the same opportunity college basketball players have with professional evaluation.
Junior OT Ike Boettger — Remember last week when OL coach Brian Ferentz talked about pass protection? Boettger echoed those thoughts. Iowa OTs and DEs seem to pair off every year. Last year, Boettger had the opportunity to learn against senior DE Nate Meier. This year, Boettger is the veteran in his matchups with sophomore DE Matt Nelson. Listen to how those matchups go.
Sophomore WR Jay Scheel — Ball placement was a topic Wednesday with OC Greg Davis. I asked Scheel how QBs and WRs get on the same page in that regard. I also asked about playing multiple positions, something that could be a factor for Scheel, who plays behind fellow sophomore Jerminic Smith at the split end position.
