Ferguson could become the norm

To the editor:
I don't understand why the majority of Americans voted for a party that will destroy the well-being of most of us.
The Republican Party members are against health care for the majority, clean air and water, a living wage for workers, women's rights to birth control or equal pay and people of other than European lineage.
You might say they are for pollution, subjugation of women, global disasters, a plethora of hungry poorly educated children and a gun in every pocket. Republicans have done their best to disenfranchise everyone with a contrary opinion, including our president. They shout down every reasonable voice that lacks the stridency of extremism.
If this country continues along this path of awarding the 1 percent while enslaving everyone else, I fear Ferguson, Mo., will be the norm rather than the exception.
