Government takes cues from leader
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Nov. 9, 2013 12:23 pm
Regarding the cartoon on the editorial page of Oct. 25: The cartoonist depicted a tree that had lost its leaves and our present government was exposed - the judicial, legislative and executive branches. It struck me with the truth of “Politics,” “Incompetence,” and “Secrecy” in the heading above exposed branches. Its message is clear.
Our government is run by politics, incompetence, and now secrecy that has been exposed. There is an old truth of life: The leader sets the tone for any organization.” Our government leader is political, incompetent and hides his actions. When the leader speaks and acts, those under him follow his lead. That has led to the chaos in our country's capital. I don't see any way out of the chaos unless we elect honest people who do not sell themselves to lobbyists and always keep America in mind and not their re-election. This is written out of observation and hope.
