Pipeline will be good for Iowa, nation

To the editor:
The proposed Dakota Access Pipeline is an opportunity that Iowa and the country cannot afford to pass up. The pipeline is slated to employ the most up-to-date modern pipeline technology to safely and efficiently transport valuable energy resources to markets across the United States. Highly skilled laborers and craftsmen such as myself will build the line to meet or exceed existing standards.
Iowa has the opportunity to help deliver on a long-standing national goal: energy independence. We have the resources to make this happen, but lack of infrastructure to bring those resources to market. Critical pipeline projects like Dakota Access solve this problem and will allow affordable domestic energy to be delivered to households and businesses across Iowa and the nation for generations to come.
I encourage Iowans to join me in supporting this project because this is an opportunity that we can't afford to pass up.
