America is a good place to be poor

To the editor:
The June 1 article in The Gazette 'What it means to be poor” should have carried the heading 'What it means to be poor in America.”
Well over half the people on the planet try to exist on $3 a day or less. Simply put, your garbage disposal eats better than half the world's population.
Permanently or temporarily, America is a pretty good place in which to be 'poor.”
