4 Corridor companies make finals in Iowa Business Plan Competition

Four Corridor companies are among seven finalists named Thursday, August 11, in the 2011 John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition.
CQM System of Coralville joined FxRedux Solutions, Radiology Protocols and Responsible Transportation of Iowa City on the list of finalists.
The other finalists in the statewide competition are all from Ames. They are VSI Aerospace Inc., Pathovacs, and M & S FlowMatics.
The seven finalists will enter the third round of competition Sept. 8 in Ames. Earlier rounds narrowed the original field of entries to 20, and then to seven.
The John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition is designed to stimulate business development and provide support for outstanding business plans, according to competition judge Randy Pilkington, director of the University of Northern Iowa's John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.
PIlkington said the top three finalists will be selected for an awards ceremony in October based on their Sept. 8 presentations.
CQM Systems of Coralville was founded in 2010. It developed a proprietary chemical-free teechnology to ensure water quality to enhance efficiency in heat exchanger systems and reduce safety, health and environmental concerns.
FxRedux Solutions of Iowa City was formed in 2011. It uses proprietary virtual technology for alignment of bone fragments, which leads to better healing results and reduced costs.
Radiology Protocols was founded in 2008 in Iowa City. It developed an online medical imaging process to make radiologic image efficient and accurate, lowering imaging costs.
Responsible Transportation of Iowa City was formed in 2010. It plans to become the only horse processing plant in the United States and create value from unwanted horses.
M & S FlowMatics of Ames ws formed in 2009. It developed a unique flow meter for real-time measurement of granular materials through a pipe.
Pathovacs of Ames was founded in 2009. It speeds the development of proprietary vaccines and is working to commercialize an antigen discovery technology.
VSI Aerospace of Ames was founded in 2008. It combines software and air pressure sensors to alert pilots of trajectory changes to enhance safety and fuel savings.
