Lendt, Illeen A.
Illeen A. Lendt, 77, of Manchester, died Friday morning, May 20, 2011, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, at Community Congregational Church, Manchester, with the Rev. Kurt Pasko officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester and one hour before services Monday at the church. Burial: Oakland Cemetery.
Survivors include her four children, David Lendt of Sergeant Bluff, Deborah (Dick) Schmitt of Manchester, Darrell (Betty) Lendt of Manchester and Diane Bosler; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd (Fannie) Burmeister of Tipton and Dale Burmeister of Clarence; and three sisters, Bernice Werner of Solon, Shirley (Harlan) Meyer of Stanwood and Kennethea Meier of Clarence.
Illeen was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 2002; one sister, Luella Hodgen; and a son-in-law, Bryan Bosler. Illeen was born Sept. 4, 1933, at Lowden, in Cedar County, Iowa, to John and Clara (Gade) Burmeister. She was raised and educated in the Clarence area. Illeen was united in marriage to Elmer Lendt on Dec. 31, 1950, at Clarence, Iowa. Four children were born to this union. Together they farmed near Tipton and later Dundee. In 1971, they moved to Manchester.
Illeen was a longtime member of the Community Congregational Church.
