A joint venture has been formed by Rockwell Collins and China Electronics Technology Avionics Co. to develop and manufacture communication and navigation systems for the COMAC 919 aircraft.
China Electronics Technology Avionics Co. is a key avionics supplier in China, according to T.C. Chan, vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific, for Rockwell Collins. He said the joint venture is expected to yield state-of-the-art aircraft systems, deeper relationships in the region and a stronger foothold in the growing Chinese aviation industry.
COMAC, headquartered in Shanghai, is a state-owned aircraft company formed in 2008.
Rockwell Collins earlier announced a joint venture with China Leihua Electronic Technology Research Institute to supply surveillance products to the C919.
