Brown can make positive difference

During these weeks, we are being subjected to much of the same rhetoric we hear year after year from the same candidates and their allies. This election year, however, we finally have a fresh perspective from a young, serious candidate with the proven work ethic, long-term vision, and experience to make a positive difference: Anthony Brown.
Brown's experience with local non-profits and his campaign work provides him the realistic expectations of the demands of the job. Unlike other candidates, however, he has evaded the pressures to conform to the will of the few with the deepest pockets. His vision for the city includes both residential and commercial; small and big business; all ages and all incomes.
Cedar Rapids is on the precipice of becoming a vibrant city known for its perfect balance of traditional Midwestern living and big-city amenities. But, to get there, we need fresh leaders with the courage and skills needed to embrace and foster the needs and wishes of the city as a whole.
