Winn, Steve M.
Steve M. Winn, 60, of West Union, formerly of Strawberry Point, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Memorial Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Strawberry Point. Visitation: Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 23, 1952, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Archie and Maureen (Veech) Winn. He graduated from high school in Memphis, Mo., served in the Navy for four years, then moved to California where he attended Tech School. In 1986, Steve moved back to Iowa, residing in Cedar Rapids, Strawberry Point and finally West Union. Most recently, he has been employed at Sunopt Milling Company in Cedar Rapids.
Steve was a very caring and loving person. He was an avid volleyball player, skier and had a passion for photography. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his mother, Maureen Butler of Strawberry Point; granddaughter, Kasya; fiancee, Carol Wolfs of West Union; and siblings, Kelly (Mike) Peterman of Strawberry Point and John Henry of Cedar Grove, Wis.
Steve was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father; and a brother, Kevin.
