Tipping, Maureen
Maureen Tipping, born July 26, 1935, in Derby, England, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011.
Left to mourn is her husband of 55 years, Kenneth J. Tipping; daughter, Diane Tipping Graber (Bill) of Iowa City; and granddaughters, Hannah and Sarah Graber; and her brother, Keith in Derby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice (Wootton) and George Frederick Mulholland; and her sister, Barbara Hall.
Her formal education in England ended early by U.S. standards, but her learning continued through voracious reading, mastery of crossword puzzles and current events. She worked for Royal Crown Derby and as a wages clerk at British Rail. She married Ken Tipping on Dec. 15, 1956. In 1967, they emigrated to Cedar Rapids.
She enjoyed lively conversations, an array of crafts and, very importantly, her granddaughters.
