Politicians need to compromise

I've been actively listening to the GOP, young and old, talk about what they need to do to change their “brand” or work on their “PR” My thoughts are two fold. Are they looking to see how they need to truly change to appeal to larger groups of people? Or they going to be like any other company that isn't doing well because of past behaviors and just give themselves a new title, but the substance that got them there in the first place hasn't changed much?

Part of me appreciates people who truly believes in their cause and a way of approaching politics. But to have a party of “no” with no debate, discussion, or understanding of others' positions seems detrimental to our democracy and both parties. You can't just say government is bad, yet promote the parts you like or that benefit you. We all compromise in our daily lives, and need our politicians to do the same.

So let's hope that the GOP is looking to more moderate and calm heads to lead their party and that everyone in Washington starts to work together.
