UPDATE, PHOTO ADDED: A transient woman is in custody after police found the woman exposing her 20-month-old child to methamphetamine via a meth lab being processed from the woman's vehicle.
According to a criminal complaint, police found a vehicle from which a meth lab was being processed on July 27 around at 11:30 p.m. at 601 North Kansas Avenue in North Liberty. The vehicle was occupied by Amy L. Dlouhy, 28, and her infant child, police said.
Police allegedly gathered several items consistent with processing methamphetamine from the vehicle including 164 tablets of pseudoephedrine which the Division of Criminal Investigation said could produce a theoretical yield of 7.3 grams of methamphetamine.
Dlouhy was also allegedly in possession of 1.3 grams of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest.
Tests were performed on the infant for a presence of methamphetamine. The results showed the child's body contained 6,105 picograms per milligrams, 11 times higher than the standard cutoff for presence of methamphetamine.
Dlouhy was charged with child endangerment, two counts of controlled substance violation, and possession of pseudoephedrine, all felonies.
Dlouhy is currently in the Johnson County Jail on a $30,000 cash only bond.
