Harkin hosts opening of Obama campaign office
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin will be on hand for the grand opening of President Barack Obama's campaign office in Des Moines.
The grand opening of the Obama for America Iowa headquarters takes place Sunday afternoon. The event is open to the public.
Iowa is considered a general election swing state this year. In 2008, Obama beat Republican presidential candidate John McCain by more than nine percentage points, but voters in Iowa have leaned more Republican since the last presidential election.
