LINN COUNTY - One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries early Monday evening after her vehicle collided with two vehicles that had been stopped, with one waiting to make a turn off of Covington Road.
According to a media release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, emergency responders were called at 4:57 p.m. for a personal injury accident at 2498 Covington Rd.
Once there, according to the release, investigators determined that a vehicle driven by Daniel Hahesy, 50, of Manchester was in the northbound lane of Covington Road stopped and waiting to make a left turn. Stopped behind him was another vehicle driven by Taylor Feltes, 27 of Cedar Rapids. Feltes was waiting for Hahesy to turn when a third vehicle, driven by Lisa Watson, 40, of Cedar Rapids 'failed to stop,” striking the vehicle driven by Feltes and sending him forward into Hahesy's vehicle in a chain-reaction collision. Watson was transported by Hiawatha Ambulance to a hospital in Cedar Rapids, according to the release.
Watson's injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. All three drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, according to the release.
Also responding to the scene were Linn County Deputies and members of the Palo Fire Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
