Alliant Energy reports power outages in Linn County

Alliant Energy is working on two separate outages in Linn County.
Around 500 customers in the Mount Vernon Rd. SE area in Cedar Rapids are without power. In addition, the lights are out for around 2500 customers in the city of Mount Vernon.
Alliant Energy spokesperson Scott Drzycimski said he wasn't sure of the exact cause but assumes it is wind or lightning related. He expects it will be a few hours before power is restored.
