UPDATE: Two men demanded money from a tanning salon employee Monday evening, and then told her to hand over her jewelry, police said.
Officers responded a few minutes after 8 p.m. to the robbery at Tan Etc. Salon & Spa, 1950 Dodge Rd. NE, Ste. 108. The 47-year-old employee told them she was closing the store when she was confronted by two men who forced her back inside the building.
“They claimed to have a gun, but none was ever seen,” Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said.
Before the men left with an undisclosed amount of cash, they took rings, earrings and a necklace from the employee, police said. They went behind the building and ran east toward the Residence Inn.
The employee was not injured.
The suspects are described as two black males in their 20s, both around 5-foot-10 with medium builds. They were wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, dark-colored jeans and tennis shoes, according to the police report.
No arrests have been made. An investigation was continuing.
