Better understand plans before approving them

In the March 29 Gazette/KCRG-TV9 public forum on the proposed medical district, it was apparent that specific details of the medical mall's design were not well understood at the time of approval.
The 50-block medical district encroaches upon the most historic sites in our city, including Grant Wood's studio. Having endured epic flooding and the effects of global warming, we must ensure that construction plans are environmentally sound. With almost 50 million uninsured citizens nationwide and more than 35,000 patient charts at the Community Health Free Clinic, it is incumbent upon all of us to use diminishing medical funds wisely.
Perhaps the design and finances of future proposals for this district could be reviewed by the public in full before approval of taxpayers' money.
