Police investigate robbery at Quiznos

UPDATE: A man with a knife robbed the Quiznos sandwich shop near Lindale Mall late Monday, police said.

Officers responded around 8:45 p.m. to the reported robbery at the store, 4850 First Ave. NE. Employees told police the man demanded money and they opened the cash register for him. No one was injured.

The suspect got an undisclosed amount of cash and ran west from the store, police said. Witnesses described him as a black male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, light-colored sweatpants, a dark blue mask and sunglasses. No approximate age or build was given, police said.

Police have conducted interviews and will be checking any surveillance video that might be available. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 1-800-CR-CRIME.
