Walmart hiring 100 to renovate Coralville store

Walmart Stores Inc. has begun an extensive renovation of its store at 2801 Commerce Drive, Coralville, the company said on Wednesday, June 23.

The renovations will include wider aisle, low-profile shelving, improved lighting, bright interior paint schemes, and signage to make finding products easier. The store layout will be changed to make everyday items easier to locate.

“We listened to our customers and are redesigning the store to make shopping at Walmart even easier,” store Manager Chad Henderson said.

The store will remain open during renovations, and plans to hire about 100 additional employees to assist in the project.

Work on the renovations began on June 13 and is expected to conclude in August. Most of the work will be done during the overnight hours to minimize interference with shopping.
