Cedar Rapids man charged in sex with girl, 15
Joseph W. Congleton, 22, of 802 Eighth St. SW, was charged today with having sex with a 15-year-old girl over the past two weeks, court document said.
Congleton is charged with third-degree sexual abuse for enaging in a sexual act with the victim between June 1 and today, according to the complaint filed this morning in Linn County District Court. The incidents occurred at Congleton's residence, the complaint said.
Police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said the victim's family reported the abuse Friday. Congleton was arrested Tuesday morning and remains in the Linn County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
