Support at Tanager gala was inspiring

The community support that was shown during the Tanager Place Expressive Arts Gala on Oct. 19 was inspiring. This program does amazing work for children challenged by emotional or traumatic-related issues. The children who come to Tanager Place are our local kids, often trying to work through very complicated issues. I am very grateful for this program, which is led by the professional expertise of registered therapists.
Children enrolled in the Expressive Arts program confront serious issues through visual arts, creative writing and/or music. More than 2,700 therapy sessions were held last year.
On behalf of the board of directors, I thank the community for strong support. Thanks to our major sponsors, Raining Rose, Guaranty Bank, the Linge Foundation, TrueNorth, ACT, Matt and Red Rissi, and to all the other sponsors. The board also thanks the hundreds in attendance who act as advocates for underserved children. Every penny raised impacts a child in need.
I am proud to know that our community works hard to cherish its most valuable resource, our children.
