An interactive fundraiser for the Cedar Rapids police and Linn County Sheriff's K-9 units will be held this Saturday, May 22.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Pet's Playhouse, 151 Jacolyn Dr. NW in Cedar Rapids. More than 5,000 people attended last year's event.
“Yoeri” and “Nitro,” two dogs purchased using money raised at past fundraisers, will be featured. Demonstrations will be done showing the training the dogs have received. Those who attend can interact with the dogs and ask questions to the officers.
K-9 dogs are purchased using the donations from the fundraisers. The benefit has also raised money to buy bulletproof vests for the animals.
