Thursday night brought the final preseason tuneup for 30 NFL teams. A few defensive players from Iowa apparently made the most of their nights.
Rookie safety Tyler Sash had a team-high seven tackles, two quarterback sacks, and a forced fumble for the New York Giants in their 18-17 win at New England. Sash was the Giants' leader in preseason tackles with 20.
Rookie defensive tackle Karl Klug had two sacks for the Tennessee Titans in their 32-9 win at New Orleans, including one for a safety. The video of that can be seen here.
A.J. Edds, a second-year linebacker getting his first pro playing time this year, had a team-high five tackles for the Miami Dolphins in their 17-3 victory over Dallas. Edds led Miami in preseason tackles with 17.
Rookie running back Alexander Robinson of Iowa State had a nice game for the Minnesota Vikings, rushing seven times for 48 yards and a touchdown, and catching two passes for 12 yards.
