Mehaffey Bridge Road accident sends two to hospital

An automobile accident near the Mehaffey Road Bridge and Cottage Reserve Road sent four people to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and cut off traffic between North Liberty and Solon slightly before noon on Sunday.

Iowa State Patrol Records indicate that Zong Ze Chen, 25, of Iowa City and two passengers in his vehicle were injured after Chen appears to have failed to yield to a truck driven by Marian Anderson, 48, of Coralville while turning south onto Mehaffey Bridge Road.

Chen was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and clinics via Air Care. His condition is currently unknown.

Chen's passengers, Fan Yang and Bosh Yang, were transported to the hospital via ambulance and were treated and released. Anderson was also transported via ambulance. Her condition is unknown.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
