Penrith out at UNI

Apr. 7, 2010 9:04 pm
Multiple sources have confirmed that Brad Penrith is out as the head coach at the University of Northern Iowa. Supposedly, a meeting was held earlier this evening between Penrith and athletics director Troy Dannen, which led to the coaching change.
A call and text message to Penrith have not been returned and UNI has not released any information at this time.
I am still trying to track down comments and verify confirmation.
Just a year ago, Penrith signed a three-year contract extension. At that time, Dannen said in a news release that the program would look to develop resources and reconnect with alumni for increased support of the program. He claimed penrith was his guy.
"He's got a passion for UNI," Dannen said in 2009 after finalizing Penrith's extension. "He knows wrestling. His kids respect him, and that's the type of guy I want to work with."
