Cook will help district with long-term planning

The Sept. 10 school board election for the Iowa City Community School District is one of the most important in recent years, not only for students and their families, but for the metro area. Having a strong and productive school system is mandatory for a thriving community.
I've already voted early for Karla Cook. She has the experience, knowledge, dedication and skills I want for our board to conduct thoughtful and productive discussions and make decisions regarding the critically needed 10-year, $252 million facilities master plan. And after that, return to focusing on the level of education.
