Time for moratorium on LOST elections

The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library's move to higher ground was masterfully accomplished. Perhaps that company could return and move the PCI abomination that is usurping Second Avenue to the west bank of the Cedar. They also could move the increasingly expensive city-owned hotel and convention center to abut PCI on the west side. Then they could move the cushy deal TrueNorth building (former city library) to align with the other two.
These buildings together would form a nice levee against future flooding on the west side. They would also provide a graphic example to the City Council as to just where the support went for an extension to the existing local option sales tax that brought about two defeats in less than a year. Then, perhaps, the council will finally understand.
Let's call a moratorium to these expensive elections about extending LOST and let feelings subside. Allow the moratorium to stay in place until the present LOST has expired in 2014. Perhaps by that time a clearer picture will emerge as to how best to proceed.
In the interim, The Gazette can use the front page for actual news instead of being the house organ mouthpiece for special interests like CREST.
