WASHINGTON - Two U.S. Navy jets collided while airborne on Thursday off the North Carolina coast, and all four crew members were recovered safely, U.S. officials said.
The crews from the two F/A-18 jets were transported to a medical facility, a Navy official said.
Members of a nearby commercial fishing boat rescued the military crews, the U.S. Coast Guard said in a statement.
The crew members appeared to be in good condition, MSNBC reported, adding that one person had a leg injury.
