Huge third period lifts RoughRiders past Tri-City, 7-4

KEARNEY, Neb. - Alec Marsh scored a go-ahead goal just 1:22 into the third period, and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders went on for a wild 7-4 win over the Tri-City Storm in USHL hockey Saturday night.
The Riders (4-1) scored five times in the third to end a successful and travel-filled weekend. The club won Thursday night at Fargo, 7-1.
Jason Kalinowski, Judd Peterson, Ivan Provorov and Paul O'Connor also scored in the third for Cedar Rapids. O'Connor's unassisted goal was into an empty net.
Kalinowski had three assists to go with his goal, finishing with a plus-minus rating of plus-three. Jack Rowe started the scoring early in the first period and tied the game at 2-2 with a goal late in the second.
The RoughRiders outshot Tri-City by a scant 39-37 margin. Chris Birdsall got the win in net.
