Coralville Lake road construction project will cause detours, delays

Road construction at Coralville Lake is going to shut down roads and create delays.
The $2 million project will remove and repave a two mile stretch of road.
“The thing people need to realize is at least through Labor Day and past that the area down here at the Dam is going to be cut in half,” said John Castle, operations manager for Coralville Lake. “You won't be able to go from side to side across the Dam. You'll have to make plans accordingly. ”
Some campgrounds – like Tailwater East – will have limited accessibility.
Coralville Lake Marina will remain open, but it will take longer for boaters to access it.
The construction project will start sometime next week and is expected to be finished in November.
This is the first time since 1981 these roads have been improved.
