New act is real threat, will not go away

Bravo to (The Gazette's) Todd Dorman, who (in Feb. 10 column) clearly identified Rep. Richard Anderson as the author/sponsor of the hateful Religious Conscience Protection Act, something The Gazette at large only hinted at.
Please don't dismiss this act as a feeble, failed attempt. Like the stinky fungus under the sink, it will be back, repackaged and perfumed. Likewise, don't think that one Republican representative is nothing to worry about. None other than Gov. Terry Branstad said of the act, “What it does is protect people who want to exercise their moral and ethical rights under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.”
See what you elected, folks? I'm proud to say I voted the other way, even if it gets me on Anderson's enemies list.
