Sinclair campground logical, affordable

The Sinclair site would be a great place for a campground. People wouldn't just come to town to camp; they would shop and eat at businesses in Czech Village and New Bohemia, walk the streets at the downtown farmers markets, or go for a walk or bike ride on the great trails in that neighborhood. Also, because the campground would be located close to or on the river, there would be great fishing available.
All the work can be done without any taxpayer money. Round up some volunteers, have a fundraiser and get to work. This is just an idea of an affordable place to stay and enjoy a great Cedar Rapids weekend.
If we have another 500-year flood, it wouldn't cost millions to fix like it would if you put in new houses, businesses or other recreation areas. The money saved on the campground being built by volunteers would mean the city has extra money to work on making bike/pedestrian trails on Mount Trashmore.
