(Maria) Uchytil, Juneau, Ala.; grandchildren, Andrew (Dr. Stephanie Truhlar) Eaton, San Diego, Calif., Dr. Jeffrey (Julie) Eaton, Faribault, Minn., Anna and Austin Hoover, Baltimore, Md., Gavin and Lauren Henderson, Plantation, Fla., Second Class Cadet Nicholas Herndon, New London, Conn., Dana Herndon, Miami, Fla., Carl Patrick and Claire Uchytil, Juneau, Ala.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia Ann on Sept. 12, 1987; brother, Fred; and two sisters, Margret Duhacheck and Kathryn Weaver; nieces, Gloria Uchytil Crooks, Marcia Duhacheck and nephew, Dennis Weaver.
Carl was born on September 26, 1916 to Clara (Cizek) and Charles Uchytil in Carroll Township. On April 5, 1951 Carl was married to Georgia Ann Kubik. They moved to Toledo, where Carl has lived for the past 48 years. Carl spent many years as a mechanic working on cars, trucks and farm equipment. Before that he farmed with his bother Fred on the family farm. He loved to travel with his wife Georgie and visit their children. After her death, he looked forward to his “mini” vacations to Minn. for all of the holidays and especially Christmas when all of his family would gather together. He was very proud to watch or hear about his children's and grandchildren's events and accomplishments, attending as many as he could. He enjoyed gardening, dancing (polka's were his favorite), reading, eating Georgie's great food, his dog Barney, watching sporting events and rooting for his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
He was a very proud, quiet, gentle, caring and loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed!
A memorial fund has been established.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is handling the arrangements.
