Twenty-five people have applied to become the next director of The Eastern Iowa Airport.
ADK Executive Search of Atlantic Beach, Fla., said the applicants have a wide-range of experience and are from across the country.
ADK, hired by the Cedar Rapids Airport Commission to screen applicants, has narrowed the list to 11 people who will continue in the process. Out of those 11 candidates, 10 are accredited airport executives through the American Association of Airport Executives.
The search is on schedule and the Cedar Rapids Airport Commission hopes to have a new director in place by the end of May or early June.
Former Airport Director Dan Mann accepted a similar post with the airport in Columbia, S.C.
The airport director supervises staff and a facility with an annual budget of about $13 million. Although the City of Cedar Rapids owns the airport, it operates as a stand-alone entity that does not receive property tax revenue.
