Here’s hoping Mallard goes away, too

It seems that none of the proposed “replacement” comics for “Doonesbury” are political in nature. Because The Gazette is on record as stating that “Doonesbury” on the left and “Mallard Fillmore” on the right tend to balance each other, does this mean that the people of Eastern Iowa will no longer be subjected to the offensive idiocy of Mallard? We can only hope.
