Letter: Trump deserves media support

It should not come as a great surprise that the polls were so wrong. Who sits at home waiting for a call from the polling pundits? Many of those who voted for president-elect Donald Trump were hard at work and not inclined to answer calls from outside of their area code even if they were at home.
The media was generally quite biased in their presentation. Some voters may have been reticent to declare their intention given the fact that even today the media is reacting with shock at Trump's victory. It seems that the people of this still great country are not infatuated with the direction the elite politicians of our nation are trying to take us. The media loves controversy more than good news, but hopefully those who deliver the news will encourage the nation to heal the rift between liberal and conservative viewpoints and find a way forward for the good of our nation. America is and will still be a great nation. The media should get behind the new president and support him as they have President Barack Obama for the last eight years.
