Coralville visitor numbers suffering with high water

High water and persistent rain are keeping visitors away from Coralville Lake in eastern Iowa this summer.
And businesses fear it's only going to get worse when a major road project starts next week.
Because of high water, the West Overlook day use ramp was closed for nearly a month. The ramp reopened in late July, but has not been too busy since reopening.
Don Gitch, a contractor with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, says he's not sure people are aware the ramp has reopened.
Bill Kallaus at Funcrest Bait and Tackle shop says his business is down about 20 percent of what it is normally during the summer.
The West Overlook ramp closes Sept. 15. People will be able to swim and use the boat dock into October.
