Letter: Willems wrong to criticize Sullivan’s work

Nate Willems recently chose to criticize Adam Sullivan's work as a Gazette columnist ('Reader shares thoughts about columnist,” Dec. 6). He seems to be concerned that Sullivan has a conservative tendency.
I can tell Willems that I never worked for a poor man. Thank goodness 'rich” men acquired (or had the guts to borrow) capital to buy machinery, equipment and material which produced jobs for people like me. Then these 'rich people” had to keep their employees and customers happy to survive in a very competitive market. Personally, I admire and respect the private economy job providers.
Willems' jealousy of the wealthy is wrong headed. Rather we should strive to have a government that appreciates that capitalism is what makes America great. For evidence, just look at your 401(k) since the Obama regime left office. Has it improved? If so, do you think ‘government' improved it or do you think that ‘private economy' improved it?
Why does Willems buy TV ads trying to attract clients to his law firm? Because he knows there is competition for clients. Does the firm intend to make a profit? Of course it does. Is Willems working to get rich? Of course he is. Gee, I think that makes Willems a capitalist. He just does not realize it. Mr. Willems, I ask you to connect these dots. Then, when the light bulb goes on in your mind, you might want to consider registering as a Republican. Welcome.
