Letter: Reader sorry for her crime

Even after being incarcerated one day short of five years, I still feel the guilt of what I put employees and customers through at Walgreens and Medicap that awful day on March 22, 2011.

I imagine my victims will always have memories and be affected and for this I am now and will forever be sorry. If any of you are reading this, please forgive me. God got ahold of me while I was away and within me He is here to stay. I grew spiritually and got healthy while I was locked up.

I feel differently now than I did before about drug use, sin and criminal activity. Mitchellville prison provided an atmosphere that allowed me to heal and grow. Going to prison saved my life because I was taken off the streets and away from unhealthy substances and influences.

I am currently in a halfway house working on building a positive support system and maintaining employment. I have never been successful for an extended period of time, but it is my goal to become so. What I ask for, if I may, is if I harmed anyone directly and/or indirectly to please forgive me. I have made mistakes and nothing will ever change that. I cannot go back and undo what has been done. This is a reality I have to live with.
