Good for you, chicken lovers

After coming back to my hometown a little over a year ago, I am quite amused to read of the chickens that may come to many yards.

Our moving trip here was long as many to other major cities have been, but when we arrived at our spot in the night, we were so thankful, sleepy we were.

Around 4 or 5 a.m., I was awakened to a rooster's time-to-get-up alarm. I laid there to listen awhile; gradually the family awoke, laughing and listening to that mighty crow. Thus every night, we enjoyed his call, until we moved into our house.

So you chicken lovers out there who want the city fathers to grant your wish, indeed it would be mine. Do not give up. You go, people. After all, this is Iowa.
