Cameras are for your safety; obey the law

Some people in Cedar Rapids really surprise me. When we have a crisis, we expect law enforcement to be there to protect and keep us safe. If we don't have a problem, should law enforcement go away and stay away until we need them? That's insane.
If we are told to take this medicine or that medicine to prevent an illness or a disease, we do it. That's called preventive medicine. Part of law enforcement's job is to prevent crime before it happens.
In case you don't know, speeding and running red lights are crimes, however small in nature. Who cares if the reason the cameras were purchased was for income or safety? They go hand in hand. To me, the people who are complaining are the ones who speed and run red lights. If you fall into this class, you are breaking the law and you should expect to be caught. You are not special, you are not above the law, so what do you do?
Instead of slowing down and trying to prevent accidents, you whine about hiding cameras, hiding vehicles on Interstate 380 that can clock your speed and take your picture.
Wake up, Cedar Rapids. These things are for your safety.
Don't be stupid, Cedar Rapids. Obey the law.
