Archie's playing status this year for Iowa still undetermined
Dec. 19, 2009 3:53 pm
Iowa junior Devon Archie continues to improve after suffering a shoulder injury the second day of practice. His playing status for this season is still undetermined.
"His injury is healing," Iowa Coach Todd Lickliter said. "He's making progress. He's under the weather now. I'm not sure what the diagnosis is but he had something, a sickness that's we're taking care of it. We're just not able to practice now."
Archie, a 6-foot-9 power forward, started 19 of 30 games last year for Vincennes (Ind.) junior college. Lickliter said he still could red-shirt Archie.
"I'm just more concerned about him getting healthy," Lickliter said. "The only way (the decision is) made is if I play him, as far as you can't go back on it."
