To the editor:
My husband, Jay, has written many letters to The Gazette. We always heard from many people when he would write another because they all liked them.
He was in the hospital toward the end of November and when he got home he had wanted to send a letter. He died on Dec. 5. Here is his letter he had intended to send before his death:
'During my stay in the hospital, I visited with several professional health care workers, who agreed that insurance companies have no place in health care.
They provide nothing toward health care and take huge amounts of money out of it. The money you pay for health insurance, some of it ends up in Sen. Chuck Grassley campaign funds from the insurance company to keep things as they are. Grassley doesn't need to worry, he has a gold plated health insurance plan paid for by taxpayers. Grassley is an employee of the taxpayer. They are paying his insurance. Does this sound fair?”
