Iowa regents want Price Lab School lawsuit dismissed

State lawyers want the Iowa Supreme Court to dismiss a lawsuit challenging the Iowa Board of Regents' decision to close the education training school at the University of Northern Iowa.
An assistant attorney general representing the regents filed documents last week asking the high court to throw out the appeal filed by parents and other supporters of the Price Laboratory School.
The regents voted earlier this year to close the school in June in a cost-saving move. The decision drew protests from parents, students, employees and members of the community who considered Price Lab a model teaching and learning center.
The lawsuit alleges the regents didn't have the authority to close it, but a judge rejected that argument.
The regents will consider plans Wednesday
