Jake Kelly has mono, Nebraska football shakes up staff, Iowa women's basketball team wins 20th

1. Woe is Jake Kelly.
Jake Kelly has played well when he's gotten the chance to play for Indiana State the last two seasons. But since transferring from Iowa, the guard missed part of last season with a knee injury and missed part of this season with a stress reaction in a leg.
Now the senior is out indefinitely with mononucleosis. He missed his fourth-straight game when he was held out of the Sycamores' 77-72 win at Southern Illinois Wednesday.
However, Linn-Mar graduate Jordan Printy did play, and made three 3-pointers in 22 minutes. The junior is averaging 5.1 points.
Indiana State is coached by former Iowa assistant Greg Lansing. The Sycamores are 15-12 overall and a surprising 10-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
2. Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini has reorganized his football staff.
Nebraska football fans were down on offensive coordinator Shawn Watson last season, particularly after the Huskers laid a big egg against Washington in the Holiday Bowl.
Watson is gone, as two other members of Pelini's 2010 staff. Rivals.com has reported Watson will be the next quarterbacks coach at Louisville.
This is from Associated Press:
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has confirmed the reorganization of his coaching staff, making Tim Beck his offensive coordinator and announcing three new assistants.
Pelini told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he has hired Indiana assistant Corey Raymond to coach the secondary, Ohio assistant Ross Els to coach linebackers and Massachusetts prep school coach Rich Fisher to coach wide receivers. Pelini later announced that staff intern John Garrison has been promoted to assistant and will work with Barney Cotton on the offensive line.
Pelini declined to say whether former offensive coordinator Shawn Watson and former receivers coach Ted Gilmore resigned or were fired. Pelini announced former secondary coach Marvin Sanders' resignation, for personal reasons, in a statement two weeks ago.
Beck, who had been running backs coach, will work with the quarterbacks as well as direct the offense. Ron Brown, who had been coaching tight ends, is now in charge of running backs.
3. Iowa's men's basketball team is at Northwestern tonight.
So ... plan accordingly.
The Iowa women's team beat Wisconsin 59-44 Wednesday night in Iowa City to improve to 20-7. Another Printy from Linn-Mar, sophomore Jaime, had 12 points for Iowa. She averages a team-high 15.3 points per game.
A brother and sister both contributed significantly in their teams' major-college victories. Pretty nice night for one family, huh?
