The city should be standing behind Penford

I cannot understand our city leaders not wanting to help Penford to expand. This business has been in Cedar Rapids through all kinds of hard times and good times. Penford has contributed to our city in all kinds of ways - taxes, wages and school donations. Penford has been a good solid employer for years and now wants a little consideration.
Penford doesn't want to close a street. Maybe the city needs to move a park that needs some updating to some vacant city property of which there is much.
Keep what we have and know. Don't invest in a company from wherever and that we know nothing about except promises and then is gone in three years with city and state money.
I think our city leaders need to get their heads out of the sand.
