Let's continue our pride, unity

It is hard to believe that 11 years have passed since the 9/11 tragedy took place. I am reminded of the loss of life and pray for the surviving loved ones. To many, the results of that day are so much more than just added inconvenience at the airport.
In addition to the sadness, other memories came flooding back. I remember feeling awe and pride for the bravery of the firefighters and other emergency workers. I loved hearing the stories of everyday people risking their lives to help complete strangers. For just a brief time, we were a united country and it felt right.
I would like us all to remember, as we continue through this election process, the feeling of pride and unity our country shared during the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. United we stand; divided we fall.
