Solon to hold public forums with superintendent candidates
May. 20, 2015 11:38 am
SOLON - The Solon Community School District will hold public forums Thursday afternoon with two finalists for its superintendent position.
The district's school board will not announce the names of the candidates before the forums, said board vice president Rick Jedlicka. He said the board wanted to give candidates time to talk to their current employers.
The board likely will announce its choice for the next superintendent Thursday night or at a board meeting Friday morning, Jedlicka said. The two finalists also will interview with the board and several other groups Thursday.
Current superintendent Sam Miller said last month he is leaving to take over Area Education Agency 267 in Cedar Falls. Miller has led Solon schools since 2010.
The public forums are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the Solon High School media center, 600 W. Fifth St, Solon.
Sam Miller is the superintendent of the Solon Community School District.
