DAVENPORT - A Davenport attorney has been indicted on nine charges in an alleged scheme to defraud banks and mortgage lenders.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says the fraud carried out by 59-year-old Marc Engelman involved eight transactions and nine properties in Davenport.
Engelman is charged with six counts of wire fraud, two counts of bank fraud and one count of conspiracy. He faces up to 185 years in prison if convicted. A trial is set for July 5 in U.S. District Court.
A message left Saturday at Engelman's office wasn't immediately returned. There was no home listing for him.
